Through out the years as Dale has related his experience from behind the Iron Curtain the universal response has been, “Dale you have to write a book.” Recently retired Dale now has the time to reflect and write.
Dale Gibson has lived a remarkable life of adventure in pursuit of following God’s calling. He is a man of faith and vision with a strong analytical mind who is always looking forward to the next big project. Young at heart and continually learning, Dale says, “I still don’t know what I want to be when I grow up.” Foundational to Dale’s life were the six years he spent smuggling Bibles behind the Iron Curtain from age 22 to 28. Dale experienced the power of faith coupled with God’s grace that would allow him to take risks and make a difference in many people’s lives.

Dale’s adventure in faith has led him to minister in both secular and sacred professions. Dale is an ordained minister with a master’s degree in Christian Education and Social Ethics. He has also been a fully licensed stockbroker and financial planner. A common theme that runs through Dale’s varied career is a powerful belief that a vision is possible with God’s help. Especially when it is coupled with an audacious step by step financial plan. When working to solve a problem, Dale rarely accepts no for an answer but always looks for other creative solutions.
As business pastor for Willamette Christian Church, Dale saw the church grow from 127 people to over 3000. Today Willamette Christian Church has an attendance of 5000 on three campuses.
In four years as missionaries in Chile, Dale and his family helped establish an indigenous self-supporting church of 300 and start a new Christian school with 850 students. Working as a tour operator doing walking tours throughout the world, Dale used his linguistics skills in German and Spanish to help the business double every year of his time there. As the General Manager of a large luxury hotel, Dale took a property that consistently lost money and made it highly profitable. Humble servant leadership has been the hallmark in helping businesses, organizations, and churches grow and prosper.
Dale has served on several mission, school and church boards. Dale and his wife Kathy do marriage mentoring in their local church. The Gibsons are world travelers and have 3 grown children and 8 grandchildren. A son and family live in Japan, a daughter and family live in Oxford, England, and another daughter and family live in Portland, Oregon.
